| Mancini confident about taking City to the next level | ||||

Roberto Mancini thinks Manchester City have shown they can challenge for the Premier League title next season after their impressive showing this campaign.
The Italian manager took over from Mark Hughes in December 2009 and guided the club to fifth place in the Premier League. They had battled for a top four finish for the majority of the season and Mancini is already planning next season's attack on the Premier League title as he looks to bring in some new big name signings to Eastlands this summer. Mancini claims it is "possible" to finish above the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal next season as they showed they can battle with the big boys throughout this campaign. The Premier league betting for next season suggests they are in with a chance. "This season we beat Chelsea twice, we drew with Liverpool twice and we beat Arsenal," the Italian said. "These are top teams who have played in the Champions League but we were strong against them all and were ready to meet them mentally. That is important." City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak recently gave Mancini his full backing by stating the manager's future at the club is assured "for many years". Mubarak told the club's website he was confident that Mancini will do a "wonderful job" for the club and bring trophies to Eastlands in the coming years. Meanwhile, City midfielder Patrick Vieira has hit out at France manager Raymond Domenech for not personally contacting him about his exclusion from the country's World Cup squad. France are relative outsiders in the World Cup odds and Vieira was unhappy that he had to learn he wouldn't be travelling to South Africa by reading it in the paper.
