Senegal forward Mame Biram Diouf was signed from Molde in Norway during the summer but was only able to join United in December after receiving international clearance. The 22-year-old scored his first United goal in only his second game, grabbing the last in a 3-0 win over Burnley and also came on as a late substitute in this week's Carling Cup semi-final derby with City. Speaking after his first goal for the club, the striker said the moment "felt good", but admitted he was "very nervous" for the first few minutes he stepped onto the Old Trafford pitch. "I don't know whether I will play more games. I am not the one who is deciding. I have to be ready for my next chance," Diouf told the Manchester Evening News. "I have settled in well. Everyone has been so nice to me. I have not had any problems. It has been fantastic. I can learn from Owen, Berbatov and Rooney." The amount of playing time the Senegal striker gets in United's Premier League title challenge could depend on the fitness of fellow forward Dimitar Berbatov. The Bulgarian has been struggling with a troublesome knee problem, which could restrict his appearances between now and the end of the season, meaning Diouf could appear in more Premier League games. United's Carling Cup betting odds were dealt a blow when they lost to City. However, the club are still fighting for silverware on three fronts.
