This season's Premier League title race could be the most competitive one in many years, according to Manchester United's Gary Neville.

The veteran former England defender hopes to help his side win their fourth title in a row, but they are currently second in the table behind Chelsea.

United are four points behind their West London rivals, while Arsenal are also closing in, only two points behind them and with a game in hand.

There are a number of other teams such as Aston Villa and Spurs also still in the hunt, which has seen competition amongst sides in the Premier League increase this season and United and Chelsea being unable to pull away from the pack.

"I've been saying all along that it's not a two-horse race - it can change so quickly," said Neville.

"We've dropped points, Chelsea have dropped points, and it can close up at the top very quickly."

Sir Alex Ferguson recently complained after his side's 3-0 defeat to Fulham about the injury crisis that he is facing at Old Trafford.

He is currently without seven defenders and he admitted that he hoped their fifth league loss this season will not be too damaging and end their Premier League title ambitions.
