Darren Fletcher has seen his side battle with an injury crisis, with 14 senior players unavailable for United's 3-1 Champions League victory over Wolfsburg last week. The Scottish midfielder was forced to line up in an unfamiliar three-man defence alongside Michael Carrick and Patrice Evra as Sir Alex Ferguson had to cope without eight defenders due to injury. United were defeated by Aston Villa at the weekend, as they failed to take advantage of Chelsea's slip-up at home to Everton. However, Fletcher claims the strength of the United squad will be key in their ambition to upset the football odds and win silverware both domestically and in Europe. "We have a few problems at the back and the sooner our defenders come back the better, but if not we'll have to rally round as a team like we did in midweek and try to put in a professional performance," said the midfielder.
